Cool and Collected…

This is the console in our UN Plaza Duplex apartment…Harmony is always one of the most important factors when designing for a Client. Aesthetic Integrity  and Harmony are the foils that make a space “work” or not. This sleek linear cabinet is not only a beautiful piece but also provides storage within and display area on top. Everything is working together, Floor, Console, Walls… and creates a Modern, Cool and Stylish statement.

Cycle Therapy…

When I have a free day on  the weekends, the above image illustrates what makes me smile. The materials: NYC, my bike and I… I love to ride through this amazing landscape and pedal my worries away and clear my head. As an Architect and Designer, my work is precise and requires deep thought and accurate decisions… At the end of a busy day, what energizes and relaxes me at the same time is the physical exercise and the inspiration I find viewing all the scenery… This is  the end of a relaxing tour, a beautiful sunset and skyline.

Room With A View…

I took this image of the view from the  Kitchen at ORA studio’s 58th St Project…  Who needs TV, when you have this picture of Central Park  and Fantastic Architecture as your scenery…I could stare out these windows for hours, have a coffee, make dinner for family and friends,  and know that Humanity and Nature coexist in Harmony  when I see this.

Let the Sunshine in….

Every season, in Design there is always a color trend that comes to the forefront and we see this color everywhere. This Season, that color is Yellow… Color can shape the feeling of our homes and ourselves. Yellow is Optimism, Modernity, Warmth, Comfort and Cool…When we add a POP of color to a space, that space is instantly renewed, refreshed and takes on a different feel. This yellow furniture is sleek, modern and looks great with neutrals. The wall color which is a smoky  taupe is the perfect foil for these chairs. If you want to invest in color for your space, buy a statement piece that is versatile with neutrals and adds that right amount of energy to the room. I instantly felt comfortable in this chair. The shelves done in yellow add to the harmony…

Fireside Chats…

When my vision for a space comes to fruition and with the help of wonderful craftsmen, begins to make the Project  a Home, I am beyond thrilled. This is an image taken of the Master Bedroom Fireplace in ORA studio’s Charles Street Project in NYC. A wonderful space that needed some updating, I modernized the focal point and everything that was old, seems new. Whether my Client wants to watch a movie or have private time, the Fireplace makes its mark. The stunning views are courtesy of NYC.

Sign of the Times…

This week the Design world lost two iconic Masters… Sergio Pininfarina and Angelo Mangiarotti.

Sergio Pininfarina was an Italian auto design genius who designed world famous iconic cars, including the 1984 Ferrari Testarossa, the 1996 Peugeot 406 Coupe, the 1986 Fiat 124 Spider, the 2002 Ferrari Enzo, the 2003 Maserati Quattroporte and the 2004 Ferrari Scaglietti. He fulfilled the world’s desire for luxury and speed with his innovative machines.

Angelo Mangiarotti  was an Italian Architect  and Industrial Designer. The main concept in his architecture, design and sculpture works is the rise of form through the correct use of matter and technique. In his long career he has focused his efforts on the industrial process for buildings and design production, never forgetting the real needs of users. Something as basic as this clock, pictured here, turned into a  Work of Art.

We salute your lives, ideas, and progressive thinking and thank you for shaping and paving the way for all Designers who dare to dream the impossible and bring their creations to the world.

Quiet Reflection…

A new image of the Powder Room at our 140 Charles St Project…. I love the modernity and artistry  of the sink and the mirror that is illuminated from the back.  These simple lines create a such a zen and peaceful ambiance. The texture on the walls also balances the sleek sharp lines of the mirror and sink. I always strive for Harmony in a space. This makes all the difference.
