The Zen Holiday

How can we make our Holiday Season a “Zen” experience?  This begins at home, in our private oasis. While the outside world hustles and bustles through a busy season, we can create a calm and serene environment in our space. We can decorate, cook, entertain, or meditate.  Celebration is not always loud, it can be a whisper of joy and contemplation, a feeling of contentment that is far reaching and can carry us through another busy time.

We can enjoy friends, family, or our solitude during this Holiday time but not feel the need to put on a grand display. I like to reflect upon the entire year in December and look towards a bright new year, to create my own joy, outline my own goals and cleanse my living space, body and mind in preparation for the future.

I am an Architect/ Designer by profession but we are all the Architects of our own life, and well- being both physical and spiritual. We have the choice to create that “Zen” feeling for ourselves, however that may be, toast to a year passing with a glass of champagne or a cup of green tea, by our own design!

Take the time to enjoy the fruits of your labors, celebrate the highs and lows and find the balance.

There is no right or wrong way to celebrate, but it is in the celebration itself where we see the love of ourselves, family, and friends .

Happy December !
