Fire Sign…

I dream of  an evening spent like this…  A wonderful fire, comfortable chaise, and a magnificent view… A study in peaceful bliss..For all of its modernity, this terrace still evokes a natural and earthy quality, the floor, the stones of the Fireplace and the earth tone fabric of the chaise. A fantastic way to bridge the outdoors and the indoors, done so luxuriously.

NYC’s Finest…

I think Brunch is the Official Meal of NYC… Any weekend throughout the year, you can see hazy, dreamy,  strolling New Yorkers heading to their favorite restaurant to re-live their Friday and Saturday nights in the City…Brunch is a languorous and relaxing creation. What could be better than Eggs Benedict and a Mimosa or three… ?  I can say that I love Brunch in all its lingering conversations and coffee and time with friends…This delicous Brunch is courtesy of the wonderful restaurant in Bryant Park…The scenery is wonderful and the service and food divine. Is it Sunday yet??

Splish Splash…

This image is from the Guest Bathroom of our UN Plaza Duplex… I would like to be the “guest” who will use this tub. I feel instantly relaxed when I see this space. I used a grey stone which makes the room look expansive and also inviting… The Bathroom can be oasis, functional, inviting, an escape and what better way to soothe the soul than in a relaxing tub. Spoil your guests when they visit, your home is a reflection of you…

Set in Stone…

When working on a Project, one of my goals is to utilize materials that are beautiful and are of a high standard. In my sourcing , I go to warehouses, factories, studios to see the most amazing materials. This stunning piece of marble was at a warehouse where I was making some stone selection for a Project. Nature is really the ultimate artist, the colors, veining,  and shade of this stone is remarkable. When we as Designers have the opportunity to use materials such as this, it is inspiring. To create a statement for a home or commercial space that is one part Nature and one part Architect/ Designer  Vision is always a thrill. This stone is a one of a kind, a natural selection and so fantastic…

Color Blocking…

It is amazing what a coat of paint can do…I love the candy colored houses in this photo. A bright color can breathe new life into any interior, or in this case an exterior. When choosing a color to refresh a space, think about what kind of light is there, what you do in that space and research how colors affect our moods… Our home should be comforting. This example in the image may not be for everyone, but it makes me happy, hopeful and injects some FUN into life!!!

Putting it Together….

One of the most exciting times for me as an Architect and Designer is when you really see results in a Project, when the lovely bones of a space take shape and begin to create a home…My business is client driven and their happiness is paramount. I find solutions and beautiful and functional spaces in  their home. Here  is a photo of me “in action” from our Charles St. Project in front of one the newly designed fireplaces. Day by day, this Project is really becoming a wonderful new home for my clients and I am looking forward to the day when my vision  and my client’s vision come together in a finished product.
